When should my child see a pediatric pulmonologist?›
Consider asking for a referral if your child has frequent or severe asthma flares, a cough that won't go away, recurring pneumonia, unexplained shortness of breath, or sleep issues such as loud snoring or pauses in breathing.
Can asthma really be managed long-term?›
In most cases, yes. With the right evaluation, a clear treatment plan, and regular follow-up, the great majority of children with asthma — including more severe cases — are able to stay active and sleep through the night with well-controlled symptoms.
Do you treat sleep problems as well as lung conditions?›
Yes — pediatric sleep medicine is one of our core programs, including evaluation for snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, and other sleep-related breathing concerns that often go hand-in-hand with asthma and allergies.
What should we bring to the first visit?›
A list of current medications, any prior test results or imaging, and notes on your child's symptoms and what tends to trigger them. Our blog includes a guide to preparing for a first specialist visit if you'd like more detail.
Let's get your child breathing — and sleeping — easier.
